Are you happy of your staying in Florence?

Robi & Anne: A week in summer

Our family group, two couples and two teenaged boys, stayed in Angelica apartment for a week in summer. The location could not be faulted, halfway between Galleria Accademia and the Duomo and just a short walk from the Mercato Centrale (Mercato di San Lorenzo) only a short walk away. Across the road is a small supermarket for all supplies. It is only a short 15 minute walk away from SMN railway station. The apartment itself is very spacious with three large bedrooms, two with ensuite bathrooms and the third bedroom has easy access to a third bathroom. There is a large open plan sitting and dining room and separate open plan kitchen/breakfast room. There is another private sitting room adjacent to the back bedroom with two day beds. The high ceilings add to the feeling of space. We were not at all cramped and each bedroom had plenty of hanging spaces and hangers for our clothing so we weren’t living out of a suitcase for the week. There are separate modern, efficient air conditioning units in each room which was very welcome after a day of walking around in the sun! We all slept very well with comfortable beds and blockout curtains. Despite being on a busy street, there was little noise except the occasional emergency siren. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, oven, cooktop, fridge and microwave. There is also a washing machine. We didn’t cook during our stay - after all we were on holiday - but there are ample utensils for those who do. The apartment is very homely. There was also a ‘handy phone’ provided free of charge. This allows you to roam around the city, make telephone calls locally and even internationally, and to contact the apartment managers easily if needed. The only downside .. the sixty steps (10 flights of stairs) .. to the apartment. Like most apartments there is no lift. It was not a problem for us but you may want to consider this if you have reduced mobility. Our guest concierge, Francesca, met us promptly at the time we arranged to check in and even made arrangements for our private transfer back to the airport at the end of our stay. (Be aware that in Florence, taxis are not as plentiful as you might be used to! We had a short wait to catch a taxi from the airport on our arrival but none were available for booking on our return due to a fashion festival and other events. Make transfer arrangements at least the day before. Shuttle buses are available from the SMN train station but we did not fancy walking with our cases over the cobbled streets in 30 degree summer heat!) We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Angelica. It truly was a home away from home and we all felt very comfortable here. A perfect base for exploring this beautiful city!

Ann: An amazing place to stay.

This was an amazing place to stay. The apartment overlooks the Chapel of San Lorenzo, is two blocks away from the duomo and in the other direction to the Mercado. Restaurants everywhere. The busy streets of Piazza San Lorenzo are fun to people watch and thankfully muted in the back bedrooms during the night. We felt like we were in the middle of Florence dell Medici. This is a third story apartment. So if you are not into climbing lots of stairs, this is not for you. If you want to sit high atop Piazza San Lorenzo it’s perfect. One small note: we could not get the tv to work so if that matters to you make sure to ask how to make it happen

Emma, USA: Diana and her team did everything they could to get it fixed

We loved this tiny studio, and WOW that terrace is just amazing! Wonderful views and perfect location. Immediate area feels very safe, just a minute or two to walk to shops, bars and restaurants. The space itself is simple and stylish, and the bed is super comfortable. Lovely hot shower, yes its small but my 6 ft 1 boyfriend was fine in it. Tiny kitchen has everything you need for a short stay. Check-in was very easy. Unfortunately for us the air conditioning and stove were not working for our entire stay due to an issue with the air conditioning unit tripping electricity out, and this is the only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars. It really did impact our weekend as it was hot at night and I got lots of mosquito bites from having the windows open. Frustrating when I'd spent so long choosing a place that had great air con. However, Diana and her team did everything they could to get it fixed and offered us another place to sleep in if it got too hot. They were fantastic hosts, just our bad luck on timing with the unit breaking down. It is now fixed so I would absolutely recommend this place and would stay here again for sure!

Mackenzie, Australia: The apartment is beautiful and clean, spacious and bright

I stayed at Rosmarino for 5 weeks and it was wonderful. Check in was super easy and the host was very understanding of my travel delays! The apartment is beautiful and clean, spacious and bright and I very much appreciated the coffee machine and the airconditoning! I was also given great tips about the local area, where to eat and places to see. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to step away from the crowds and enjoy the artisinal quarter of Florence!

Joel: Thank you

My family and I just wanted to reach out and take the time to say thank you for such an outstanding property and experience with your agency. We stayed 5 days at your Angelica, Duomo property. It was perfect and all the attention to detail was very nice. In particular, our host Francesca was outstanding! She went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed, and made sure to meet us at the property when our train arrived. We stay at a lot of different properties and few of them are managed as well as Acacia. Thank you for your hospitality and the lovely city of Florence we will never forget.

Gary, Australia: In the heart of Florence

Fantastic location right in the heart of Florence. Yes, it's a little noisy at night, to be expected given the location. Very comfortable and enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you Diana for your excellent hosting.

Xavier, Svizzera: An absolute dream!

An absolute dream! Location and apartment wise you could not ask for more. Furthermore, Diana was super friendly and helpful, the apartment was very nicely decorated (as seen on pictures) and everything was perfectly clean and according to details presented on the add. Probably the best stay on Airbnb so far for me. I can only recommend it and will most definitely try to stay there next time I visit Florence.

Ryan: Fantastic view of the city

My wife and I stayed at Diana's place during our honeymoon and you'd be hard-pressed to find a nicer place if roof-top, sitting enjoying panoramic views of the city with a glass of local wine in your hand is your idea of a good time. Located in the Oltrarno area of Florence (opposite side of river from many major sites), it is a 25min walk from the train station, 20min walk from Galleria Academia, 15min walk from the Duomo and palazzo vecchio, and 10min walk from Uffizi Gallery. It is located in a residential area which has fewer hordes of tourists than on the other bank of the river which is pleasant. A smaller apartment, the rooftop terrace is the highlight. There is a table with 6 chairs as well as an additional 2 sunbathing chairs. It offers unparalleled views of the city, 180deg. The buildings to the west begin providing shade around 1-2pm which is nice as to not bake in the sun. It's great for watching the sunset over the city. There is a steep climb up a hill to the apartment itself and then typically Italian stair-steepness to reach the 3rd and top floor for the apt. We'd recommend this to anyone looking to stay in a place somewhat away from the crowds while offering a wonderful venue for enjoying a book, glass of wine, apperitivo, and fantastic views of the city!”

David, Canada: We could not have been in a better location if we had planned

Diana, we loved your place. Very tastefully decorated, all amenities were provided (even premium) shampoos and soaps. The location is in a quiet street (at first we thought we were in an alleyway until we realized they the street springs to life’s few hours later). We then realized that we could not have been in a better location if we had planned. Only 5 minutes from the train station and only 5 minutes from the very best shopping and restaurants - we cannot recommend Diana and her team enough- we had a private entry and a really amazing security and key system Enjoy this special place (you won’t regret your decision) David

Mael, France: Au coeur de la ville

Très bel appartement, très confortable au coeur de la ville. Merci pour l'accueil @airbnb

Asif, Canada: 5 min walk from the train station

This apartment was super clean and had an amazing location. 5 min walk from the train station and close proximity to stores and amenities. Never had to use the bus or taxi. Diana was very quick with her responses and offerend other traveling services. Would definitely stay here again.

Ian: Lovely Stay

The view from the roof terrace over Florence is simply beautiful and makes this apartment well worth the climb of the stairs to get to it! There were two very minor niggles regarding the apartment. The first is the window in the bathroom, which is right next to the shower and looks directly into a neighbouring flat. A towel solved that. The second was the TV. It only works for about 10 minutes before the picture fades to black. These niggles aside, the apartment is clean, in a great location and with a spectacular view over Florence, who needs a working TV?
